Well, I figured it was about time I wrote up a bit of site history, eh??  I've gone through so many different domains, layouts, names, and other changes, that it's starting to confuse me, and other people too!  heh.  So, for all of the people who have been to my site and said "WTF is going on with all these sites?!  Didn't you used to be _x_?", or simply for the new visitor...  I present to you, the fantastical and amazing, WEBSITE HISTORY!!!

VDFP was one of the first sites I ever made, dedicated to my first band.  (I don't have a screen cap of the first one, entitled "BloodAngel", but it was even less to look at than this page. It had some pics, poetry, and some crappy ASCII art!)  As you can see by the simplistic layout, default link colors, and the "under construction" banner,  I really had no idea what I was doing. =)  This site as well as the BloodAngel site were hosted by the THEN cool Geocities.. before they were overtaken by Yahoo and littered with annoying popups and shit.
(1997-1998)

numb was my next webpage. It started off with my writing, artwork, and photos.   This was the site that eventually morphed into "All-American Girl".  Towards the end of it's first year of being online, I added my cam to it, and it became a 'webcam site'.  I liked redirecting a lot of the traffic to my music stuff, as it was awesome for exposure.  The site was starting to become popular, and I was starting to get decent at making layouts at this point, so I was pretty pleased with how it looked.  It was also on Geocities, but by then they had the ads everywhere, and I needed to get the hell off there. I had been using the url numbed.cjb.net up until then, but I then registered the url luciddreams.cjb.net as a means to cloak/mask the Geocities url.
 (1998-1999)

all-american girl.   It was during this era that I experienced the peak of internet traffic, and the most popularity.  I had geared my site more towards my webcam instead of my music, because I was without a band at the time.   I joined cam portals, toplists, all that junk, and pretty soon I was getting over 2,000 hits a day.  That was when webcams were new, and not everyone in the entire world had one. (Or 2, or 3, etc). It was a new scene, and somehow I was right there in it all of a sudden. I was still using the luciddreams.cjb.net url. It was around this time that I started asking around to be hosted by someone so I could get off Geoshitties, to which a guy named "Fris" responded to.  He hosted me on his server, and was even cool enough to set up my first domain, allamericangirl.net (no longer owned by me).  Things were really kicking ass at this point. To this day, the most recognition and 'fame' I experienced was with this version of my site, and most of my hardcore fans still call me by "AAG".
 (1999-2002)

allamericangirl.net --->  rustynails.net
This is the beginning of a long and confusing period of domain and host switching.   Oh it sucked bigtime, let me tell ya.   Anyways...
after about 8 months or so of blissful internet happiness and popularity, something finally went wrong.  One day, I couldn't log into my account space to do some updates.  I then found that allamericangirl.net was offline.  It wasn't the first time my site had been offline for a few hours, or even a whole day, so I didn't worry about it.  But then, days went by with no changes.. I emailed Fris to find out what was up, looked for him on AIM, etc.  He pretty much just dissapeared, and my site was gone.  (I later found out that other 'cam girls' had had problems with this guy before) Luckily, I had just gotten a credit card, so I found my own hosting with a wonderful company called iReg, and registered the domain, rustynails.net (ganked from some NIN bootleg I have).  I did loose a lot of people during this change, after all there was no notice of allamericangirl.net going down, it just vanished one day.  However, with the luciddreams url, I redirected it to rustynails, and all was not lost.  I was still using the All-American Girl theme and layout, all that had changed was the domain/hosting.

(June 2001)

death o' rustynails.net
Most good things come to an end, and my cheap, awesome hosting at iReg became a more expensive, less reliable service from Ampira.com. They had bought out iReg, but rather than deal with moving all my shit around again, I stayed with them for awhile and paid the extra 10 bucks a month.  Suddenly I started having semi-frequent downtime on my site, and their customer service was fuckin terrible.  After about 3 months of their bullshit, I went with a new host.  I had All-American Girl up on some new hosting, and used the luciddreams address again, as my primary url.  (thank god for that url, it's been with me since almost the beginning, and it's probably kept sooo many people with me).   A couple months later, it came time to renew my domain.  Since it was still registered with Ampira, I got a notice that I could renew my domain for $20.  $20 for a .net was fuckin steep, and there was no way I was giving those fucks any more of my cash.   I emailed one of the idiots that works there and asked what would happen if I didn't renew.  He repsonded and said the domain would be up for grabs again after 30-45 days.  So I thought... no problem, fine, I can last that long without the domain, and I'll grab it up again.  Wrong.  3 months later, I still couldn't get it back.  I went to find out why the fuck not, and it turns out Ampira locked the domain so no one else could register it for a year.  Great!  So I caved in and tried to buy it back from them, but then they stopped responding for whatever reason. Whee!

so then along came.....

Tragedy1
I think I mighta been a LITTLE upset over the loss of rustynails, because my next domain was tragedystrikes.com. haha. actually, it was partly that and partly that I was getting sick of the "All-American Girl" thing.  It was starting to feel just phony, and not "me" anymore, and I thought I wanted people to see more of the real me.  So when I changed the layout, I made the cam more discreet, changed the overal tone of the site down, and made it more GAWTH, dude.
(Fall 2002)

Then my mom, of all people, happened upon my site (just lovely), and that wasn't a fun time. ughhh.. Also a couple of my RL friends started visiting my site, and they'd be like "dude I wasn't expecting to see a crotch shot on your cam, man..." And I decided that I'd better do something to fix this kind of shit. I wasn't going to stop camming, cuz at this point I was actually starting to make some money with the site, and from doing private shows. In fact, if anything, I wanted to get MORE attention, and do more private shows, make cash, etc. But I didn't want to worry about people seeing it that shouldn't. So, I registered a new domain, put together a hot, pink, girly layout, and introduced:

acamstar.com

I adored this site for the longest time. I had freedom to do a lot more for less risk. It confused a lot of people when I switched domains and started using the name "Ivy" (I wanted to get away from my real site as much as possible), but most of my hardcore fans knew what was going on... sorta. I pretty much went all out on this site and became more of a sex symbol. no doubt about it. hehee, uNF.
(January 2003)

tragedystrikes.com is stolen; rustynails.net is resurrected

During September 2003, I slacked for about 6 hours on renewing my tragedystrikes.com domain. I didn't realize I could auto-renew it, so I went to go renew it just hours after it had expired, and some fucking asswipe had put the name on backorder, and pretty much ganked it right from under me. FUCKING ASSHOLES. STOLE my fucking name. Shortly after I recieved an email from one of them, asking if I would like to buy the domain back from them, for $200. DOUCHEBAGS. Fucking MOTHERFUCKERS. God I hate people.

Anyway, by then it had been over a year since rustynails was lost. I was able to re-register it. I am now waiting patiently for tragedystrikes.com to become available again... if it ever does. As of the present day, they have renewed it for yet ANOTHER year, making it 3 years now. FUCKING ASSWIPES.

Hooray for internet drama.

presently...

Thankfully, my hosting/domain stuff has been going smoothly since renewing rustynails, and opening acamstar. I am now in the process of merging rustynails and acamstar together. With the opening of my members site, and registering lilithastaroth.com (my modeling portfolio), having 4 fucking sites that are all pretty much about the same thing is just too much! I mean I love having different domain names and stuff, but I can't bring myself to update 4 freakin sites on a regular basis. So... I gotta figure out what to do with rustynails.net now, if I want to just redirect it or maybe leave my written stuff on there. This will leave me more time to add to my growing members section, and will allow enough time to add new stuff to my portfolio. I also decided that I'm not going to try and hide my exhibitionist side of me anymore. I'm going to put up a little warning page for anyone going into my camsite, so they know exactly what is in it before they click in. If my parents or whoever, decide to go into the site, it's THEIR fault, not mine! Ivy was a fun personality for awhile, but again... after a certain point it just feels fake to not be myself. Plus, it really confuses the hell out of people. lol.

PHEW! Well that's it =) If you made it this far, kudos to you! I hope this has explained everything!
